Bildband Berlin and Replika Publishing are proud to present Codex Connection, a group exhibition and a photobook aiming to find connections, recurring themes and shared concerns across different artistic practices. Curated by Youvalle Levy, the exhibition brings together over 60 international artists whose practices focus on photography, books and printmaking. Each participant was invited to make a print 7 cm wide, drawn from recent, ongoing or upcoming projects.
Codex Connection is divided into four chapters: Accrete, Coil, Purge, and Soar, each chapter represents a feeling, or an observation which together forms a fictional narrative running through the exhibition. This structure was developed by Levy as a response to and survey of the artists’ practices, tracing shared gestures and concerns as a way of understanding current movements in contemporary photographic practice.
